The promising young soprano Anne-Louise Klaus most recently appeared onstage as a featured soloist in New England Light Opera’s production of By Strauss!.  She has further portrayed Pamina in Intermezzo’s production of Die Zauberflöte, Despina in Così fan tutte with the NY Opera Studio, and Lucy in The Telephone with Opera By the Bay.  Other favorite roles she has performed include Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi.  In 2005, she recorded the lead role of Peg March in the opera The Secret of Success by Boston composer Jeff Flaster. 

 

Ms. Klaus is active as a recitalist, particularly of Finnish song. She has performed most recently as the special guest at the New York FinnChurch Christmas Festivities.  Last year, she also appeared in recital in Finland.  She has previously performed for the Boston Finlandia Foundation as well as on the Cathedral Recital Series at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Buffalo, NY. 

 

Additional concert highlights include her 2004 performance of Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli with the Boston Boy Choir and her appearance as soloist in works by Sibelius, Rachmaninoff, and Villa-Lobos with the Blacksburg Community Strings in Blacksburg, VA.
